State Authorization & Transfer Agreements

Diploma Approval

Kilns College recently received formal approval of its new Biblical Studies Diploma Program from the Oregon Department of Degree Authorization. This approval also includes the approval of any site where diploma courses are offered.

Following is ODA’s formal statement regarding this approval:

This school is a unit of a nonprofit corporation authorized by the State of Oregon To offer and confer the academic degree [diploma] described herein, following a determination that state academic standards will be satisfied under OAR 583-030. Inquiries concerning the standards or school compliance may be directed to the Office of Degree Authorization, 1500 Valley River Drive, Suite 100, Eugene, Oregon 97401.

Transfer of Credits

Here is where Kilns College currently stands with respect to what four-year colleges will accept the credits earned at our institution.

With the following colleges we have formal credit transfer agreements, which guarantee our students that all or virtually all of their Kilns College credits will be accepted when they transfer on:
    George Fox University
    Corban College
    Multnomah Bible College
    Warner Pacific College
    Eugene Bible College

In the case of the following colleges, their admissions departments have sent us written word that they will consider accepting all credits earned at Kilns College:
    Wheaton College
    Biola University
    Westmont College
    Simpson College
    Seattle Pacific University
    Northwest Christian College
    Eastern Oregon University

If a student knows they will be eventually transferring to a specific four-year institution, it is best to consult that school’s catalog to be assured that the courses taken at Kilns College are also offered at the four-year institution. Most colleges do not accept transfer credits from other institutions for courses they do not offer.
