Today our very own Melissa McCreery will be joining 9 others on a trip to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. While there they will be meeting with victims of human trafficking and learning how to support organizations that are doing aftercare work for the victims. It is estimated that there are up to15,000 persons prostituted in Phnom Penh and that 35% of them are trafficked in from China and Vietnam. This will be a visionary trip to see how Kilns College can become involved in helping trafficked victims.
Kilns College has a mission to change the world one student at a time. If you are interested in learning about justice, Ken Wytsma will be teaching a class this fall “A People’s History of Justice in the Modern Era.” Don’t forget registration is still open for classes!
We’re excited to announce that Kilns College will be holding our first annual Fall Fundraiser this year and we can’t wait! (More on the event specifics will be coming soon!) The college has tons of projects and exciting updates in the works and we’re completely fired up to raise money to help make our strategic vision a reality for the college.
So, how can you help? We’re looking for a group of individuals who would be interested in helping plan and organize the fundraiser. Do you have a heart for Kilns and a couple hours a week to spare? If so, we’d love to talk to you about how you can help support the fundraiser!
If you’re interested in being a part of the Fall Fundraiser, please contact Melissa McCreery at melissa@kilnscollege.org.
