Kilns College has a new look!!
We’re ramping up for the fall semester and can’t wait for students– new and returning– to arrive!! If you haven’t signed up for fall classes yet, don’t forget that registration is still open!
We promise you won’t be disappointed…this semester we have some amazing classes including “History and Theology of Worship” taught by Brent Hofen and “Creative Writing: Creative Nonfiction” with David Jacobsen.

Kilns Summer Fundraiser!

What better way to kickoff this summer than with an evening of music and BBQ at sunset in the Old Mill Marketplace.
Join us Sunday, June 26th, for Summer SoulSpeak, benefiting Kilns College. This event features local favorite Erin Cole-Baker and the soulful music of the New Heart Congolese Choir. This unique group of men and women are Congolese refugees that have been resettled in Idaho; in each song, they share their story of hope and …redemption. As you enjoy the concert, you will be served a full spread from the local favorite Baldy’s BBQ.
Throughout the evening there will be a silent auction with over fifty opportunities to win prizes of all sizes ranging from local artwork to a weekend get-away! All proceeds from this event benefit Kilns College here in Bend, OR.
Advanced ticket price is $20, which includes dinner. Tickets can be purchased at the Kilns Bookstore located in the Old Mill Market Place or can be reserved via email email at info@kilnscollege.org

Fall 2011 :: Justice in the Modern Era
June 9th, 2011This fall Ken Wytsma is back at Kilns College teaching a class called A People’s History of Justice in the Modern Era.
The course will look at the development of natural and human rights theories, modern justice movements and will explore particular case studies from the view of vulnerable or oppressed peoples.

Meet :: Melissa Sudduth
April 13th, 2011Melissa Sudduth has been named the new Vice President of Development at Kilns College, located in Bend, Oregon. She brings with her a passion for higher education and a deep commitment to working with college students, to broadening the boundaries of education, and to transforming the learning process. Her commitment to higher education began during her tenure as a First Year Advisor at the University of Southern California’s Viterbi School of Engineering, where she advised freshmen students and served as the communications liaison for the Viterbi Admission & Student Affairs Division. Following her time at USC, she continued her postsecondary experience on the East Coast, working at the New England Board of Higher Education—researching and evaluating the effectiveness of remediation programs in the New England area—while also serving as the Development & Speech Writer for Emerson College’s Office of Institutional Advancement. Most recently she worked at Central Oregon Community College, serving the College in the role of Admission Coordinator. Melissa also brings to Kilns College a background in public relations and marketing.
Melissa earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from the University of Southern California and her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from Harvard University. She was born and raised in Southern California and after living for a period of time in Boston, is delighted to now call Central Oregon home.
